Kitchen Remodels by the Crew That Owns the Craft

Cabinets, counters, backsplash, flooring, lighting — one contractor and one schedule, so you're cooking in your new kitchen sooner.

What a Hometown Stone kitchen remodel includes

A kitchen remodel with Hometown Stone covers the full scope: demolition, layout changes, cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, flooring, plumbing fixtures, and lighting — managed by one local contractor from first measurement to final walkthrough. The surfaces that define a kitchen (slab counters, tile, stone) are fabricated and installed by our in-house crews — the trades that decide how good the finished kitchen looks and how long it lasts.

We work across Modesto, Turlock, Manteca, Tracy, Stockton, and the surrounding Central Valley. Projects start with a walkthrough and end with a kitchen that looks like the photos you saved — because the people quoting it are the people building it.

Scope options — refresh to full gut

Not every kitchen needs to go to the studs. We quote three honest scopes:

  • Surface refresh — new countertops, backsplash, sink and faucet. The biggest visual upgrade per dollar, often done in about a week once materials land.
  • Standard remodel — surfaces plus new cabinetry or refacing, flooring, and lighting. The most common project we build.
  • Full renovation — layout changes, wall removals, islands, new electrical and plumbing runs. The dream-kitchen scope, planned and permitted properly.

Materials we'll put in front of you

We're material people, so you'll choose from real samples, not a binder of photos: granite, quartz, quartzite, and marble for counters; porcelain, ceramic, glass, and natural stone for backsplashes; wood-look plank tile and large-format porcelain for floors. We'll tell you plainly what holds up to your cooking habits and what doesn't — read our take on choosing kitchen stone.

What a kitchen remodel costs in the Central Valley

Cost follows scope, cabinetry, and slab selection. Surface refreshes typically land in the low five figures; standard remodels in the mid five figures; full renovations climb with layout changes and appliance packages. Every quote we issue is written, itemized, and explained line by line — you'll know exactly where the money goes and where you can pull it back.

Our process

  • 1. Walkthrough & quote — we measure, talk goals and budget, and deliver a written scope.
  • 2. Selections — slabs, tile, cabinets, and fixtures, with our guidance on what performs.
  • 3. Build — demo, rough-in, cabinets, then our fabricators template and cut your counters while tile goes up.
  • 4. Walkthrough & warranty — we punch-list together, and our workmanship warranty backs the job.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Surface refreshes run about 1–2 weeks. Standard remodels typically take 4–8 weeks from demo to walkthrough. Full renovations with layout changes run longer depending on permits and cabinetry lead times. You get a written schedule before we start, and we keep to it — schedule discipline is a habit from our commercial work.

Do I need to move out during the remodel?

Almost never. We isolate the work zone, protect floors and pathways, and keep water and power running outside work hours. Most families set up a temporary kitchen station and live around the project.

Can you just replace my countertops and backsplash?

Yes — surface-only projects are welcome. Counters and backsplash are our home turf; see the countertops page for how fabrication works.

Are you licensed kitchen remodel contractors?

Yes. Hometown Stone is a licensed California contractor (CSLB #1117563), fully insured, and every remodel is backed by our workmanship warranty.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. Where the scope requires permits — electrical, plumbing, structural — we pull them and schedule the inspections. Passing inspections cleanly is routine for a crew that builds commercial.
